Unless you live/travel in DC, Virginia, one of those crazy "we will take your radar detector and smash it into pieces while you watch" provinces in Canada, or already own a radar detector, you absolutely need to pick one of these up. Yes, this model is very pricey compared to other fuzzbusters, but the 9500ix has a huge advantage: GPS awareness. This not only helps filter out all of those pesky automatic doors that use K or X band frequencies and cut out false alerts, it also has a update-able database of revenue generators red light and speed cameras and warns you when you're approaching one. You can press the "Mute" button 3 times to manually lock out a signal at that particular GPS location, but typically this is not necessary as it will automatically lock out the same frequency at the same GPS location the 3rd time you drive by it (really helps in towns/cities). You can also manually add locations of taxation without representation red light cameras, speed cameras, and speed traps.
The 9500ix is one of the best radar detectors available, if not the best. And at this price, you really can't go wrong (I bought it when it was ~$500 and it is worth every penny).

lol @ one of the reviews "Great device, This is a must have if you live in Nassau county NY, Ed Mangano (county executive) put speed cameras on major roadways to trap the tax payers and did not bother to put up adequate signage to warn you. It keeps me informed on the Mangano Camera locations."
